|The National Snurfing Contest took on new stature this year as JEM Corporation, manufacturer of the boards, stepped in to lend it a financial hand. And it may be only the beginning. The company is now interested in co-sponsoring the annual event with MCC's Student Representative Council and making it truly "national" in scope.|

President Bill Fix attend the 11th Annual Snurfing Competition to
award $1,000 in prize money and offer to co-sponsor the event in the
"Already in the planning stage are proposed local, and regional competitions with winners coming to Muskegon for the payoff event, the National Contest. Also in the works is a National Snurfer's Association with tis own executive director and a national promotion of MCC's competition."
